Just a tinkerer at heart who's been given a UA-cam channel.
The things I post about may appear random, but they usually stem from attempting to solve some problem I find myself encountering often. This is either a problem I encounter in my own personal responsibilities, or ones I encounter in my more leisurely activities such as developing my single player world in Minecraft.
Or they're just projects I've taken on to satiate my curiosity.
Since I'm a more technical person, I tend to focus on computer hardware and software, which is usually built out of redstone.
But I share what I share partly to gain feedback from people smarter than me, partly to help those who might be in a similar situation as me, but mostly to share what I am proud to say is mine.

Bubble Column Based Multi-Floor Elevator Prototype
I've always wanted a cheap but still fairly functional multi-floor elevator in Minecraft.
The trouble is all the decently functional elevator designs are just way too big and expensive, and all of the small and cheap ones are only a minor improvement on ladders.
I think bubble columns offer the most potential for striking that balance between cheap and functional, you just need a decent way of controlling where the player gets out.
So, I've constructed a super bare-bones prototype to demonstrate the major components. I think this will work quite well... I just have to make it smaller.

The First Convoy Run

Okay, context: I'd been on a quest to make a dye farm, and while I could get most of the colors I needed pretty consistently, I had a little bit of a bottle neck in the supply of black ink. Fortunately, I found a very simple ink farm that only requires a very small structure to be built above an ocean monument. I have a few ocean monuments not too far off the nether fortress portal line, so tha...
Semi-Automatic Minecart Junction (and rail alert) Tutorial
Переглядів 29 тис.5 місяців тому
As requested by... many people, this video goes over how to make the semi-automatic rail junction seen in my "Tour of My Minecart Rail Network" video. This junction was designed and built in Java Edition 1.19, but it should work as early as 1.9. And because it uses basic redstone mechanics, it should work in future versions too. Bedrock Edition users, this design may not work for you. TIMESTAMP...
A Tour of My Minecart Rail Network
Переглядів 310 тис.5 місяців тому
This one is admittedly a bit out of left field, but a few months back I thought that making something of a railroad network in my single player world in Minecraft would be a fun project. The development has come along quite nicely, and I figured now that I have a decent sized network put together, now might be a good time to show it off a bit, as well as share a few things I learned about proje...
Honey Block Autocrafter

While I've had the carpet autocrafter mod installed for some time, this is my first time automating a complex recipe. Not too bad for a first attempt. Ilmango's video on autocrafters was a huge help when figuring out how to change the filter under the crafting table: ua-cam.com/video/2_HL309IZ0M/v-deo.html
In-Game Compiler Vlog Entry #1.5

I think this project has been sitting on the back burner for too long, and I want to bring it out of storage, blow the dust off of it, and try to get it moving forward again. Only challenge is everything is outdated... oh, and I've completely forgotten how it works. I could probably relearn it, but command blocks are tricky to navigate. And this also comes with the added issue that adding new f...
Speedy Computer Vlog Entry #1
Переглядів 1,7 тис.11 місяців тому
The voters have spoken! There appears to be interest in making a computer run as fast as possible, and to be honest, the idea had intrigued me as well. Of course, making a computer run as fast as possible is going to require a lot of engineering. And that's if I just decide to build a typical RISC style pipeline CPU. But you know me, I'm not a fan of RISC :) So in this first vlog, I'll be going...

I wouldn't call this a good solution for this level, but I did notice that the race course seemed to have a sort of fractal pattern to it. So I figured using a recursive function might help reduce the size of the program. It did not... That FastBot achievement will be mine! Maybe not today, but eventually!
Basic Fundamentals of a Computer Architecture - Everything You Need to Build Your Own Computer

After over 100 videos covering everything from basic logic gates to adders to state machines, it's finally time to take everything we've learned about and put it all together to create a computer. In this video, we'll be boiling every computer down to its basic fundamentals and going over the basics of what is needed to create a general purpose computer. We'll also be going over all the differe...
Building a State Machine

By now, you should at least be familiar with a state machine and what it can do. In this video, I'll be going over how I typically build my state machines and how to use them. There are of course other ways to build state machines, this is just the way I choose to do it because it's quick and easy and works for most applications. If you like the tutorials I produce and want to ensure I am able ...
Stacks and Queues in Digital Logic

When it comes to storing things in memory, RAM can be quite useful, but there are other storage models that offer move benefits, those being stacks and queues. In this video, we'll be going over the basic idea of these storage models, as well as touching on how to build them using digital logic components. I'm not going too deep into the subject, as stacks and queues mainly pertain to software ...

Hey could you tell me which version you were playing back then? Because i can't place the repeater at 9:41 (I play in the 1.14 because my pc suck and can't hold newer versions)
I don't know for sure, but based on the upload date, and the old attack cooldown indicator, I'd say 1.8.
@@n00b_asaurusthanks bro I'm starting to swim deep into making computer pieces in Minecraft, I never understood how an Alu truly works till yesterday.
Plastic Beach is one of the best albums ever made.
This is great
Railroads are awesome.
tell this guy about create mod trains
Oh geeze… I just saw my previous comment didn’t get sent, uploaded, whatever… it was just to say “thank you” because I’ve been around this game for well over a decade due to my son, but now that I actually want to seem to play it, I start and stop worlds way too often. I was encouraged to see I guess I’m kind of the same mindset as you. Thanks again and I look forward to watching more … or going back to watch old videos!
Oh, and also… please get someone familiar with Minecraft to do the closed captioning!
Minecraft music is goated
Very clear voice and easy to listen to :) I am also way over 40 and enjoy these type of games.
Bro it doesn't work🙁
Congratulations. You've given me the least amount of information possible. Far too little for me to make any meaningful diagnosis.
37:15 there's an ocean monument there. Surely consider building a guardian farm
I agree that minecarts are more ideal than say ice boating because it’s hands free and you can transport villagers/mobs way easier. However when going distances longer than a thousand blocks or so, I’m going to use nether transport.
This reminds me of the time where UA-cam is used to be just a place for the majority to record their Minecraft lives, not a place for competing who is the Minecraft “Gods”
Amazing explanation. Now ill never confuse msb and lsb. Thanks
Thank you, I now regret to have built a centralised system x)
New sub
Bro put a video on how to change rails easyly please
You can be a cheapskate and use normal rail with the cart in a boat
elytra left rhe chat
This is so cool! I always planned to build stuff like these when I was like 9 but they didnt turn out well.
how 300k views on a tour
Nice
the un answering of questions and overall rambling was unbearable
Nah it was very chill
thanks for the explanation
I really like your rail network man. Its really inspires me
why this guy is so official
First 30 seconds into the video and I absolutely love the minimap design in the bottom left corner, fantastic! How did you do it?
ive basically found that the same thing works for me, for a long time when playing my survival worlds I tried to give myself just one project to do, and I had constantly cut myself off from doing anything else till that project was done. my world is going on 5 years-ish now, often times I even forced myself to stick to one build style, (usually alot of my worlds revolved around building some sort of city) but with my current world I just build whatever even if it doesnt match the style of the builds around it (ex: a giant chicken head right beside a medieval castle). sometimes i dont even work on a project at all but rather go explore or goof off
at one point i tried to do something similar with portals but I ended up sorta discarding it, however instead of using rails I've been luck enough to where alot of my builds are right by one single river which I've used and expanded to become one of my main forms of transport, and when they aren't near I've started to make either canals or tunnels for boats to pass through
i havent fully given up on portal transport as when i first started making my portal transport i was on switch edition of minecraft which didnt have the ability to build on the nether roof, but now that i moved the world to java i have access to things i previously didnt
I like trains.
Why does that junction inversion error occur? Is it anything related to how we made the gate? In my case the inverted RS-NOR latch issue occurred, I just fixed with by making all the comparators rotate in the opposite direction.
It's just the way rails are programmed.
@@n00b_asaurus oh.. ig it’s probably because I’m on bedrock then I suppose?
Be careful! He's a hero! He doesn't use elytra!
I did it again
Oops
Use fences to mob-proof? "Now does this system make the mob farm any more efficient? I have no idea, but I built it anyway" sometimes you engineer for need of function; other times because why not.
You are very informative, and the switching system is off the charts legit! But the grades of the hills alot if times are very steep and the trees left uncut cause a big problem for travelers encountering mobs, lastly don't be afraid to dig cuts in the rock, sand, and dirt. It really makes the line look like a legit narrow gauge railroad. But other than that! Legit dawg! Very informative fr 👏
Can i get a map of this world?
Okay, no rick rolling this time. Honestly, I don't really want to share my world. I don't know why, it just doesn't sit right with me for some reason. At the very least however, know you're not missing out on anything. Pretty much everything I've done, you can see in the video.
Can you give a link for a map of your world?
Yeah, I've got a link in the description of this video: ua-cam.com/video/dQw4w9WgXcQ/v-deo.html

Your unique story why you play the Minecraft and the projects you made is relatable even though I have different builds, it is awesome to see different perspective and thought process and reasons why they play and enjoy this awesome cube game
I really enjoyed this video, I like the way you designed the rails, and I love the realism aspect of them. Sure now there is Elytras or even pearls, but minecart is the best way, especially for storytelling to navigate through one's world
